I got my nose pierced 3 days ago and i've been cleaning it and washing it 2 times a day like i'm suppose to. Well the next morning i woke up and the jewel was IN my nose! So i went back and they took out the jewelery and put a clear rubber like band under the jewel to keep the jewel from going down in my nose.. well now that they put that on.. the clear rubber like band (the type you put on the back of earings) is starting to go in my nose now too! I keep sliding it back up under the jewel but it keeps sliding back down and going into my nose! I'm afraid if i go back to the person who pierced it they'll just make it worse! I'm scared of taking it out, and if i did i would be mad cus i went though all that to just take it out, it's like them getting payed to pierce my nose for free. Is it normal for this kind of thing to happen? It hurts like you wouldn't believe. It keeps trying to go inside my nose, is there anything i can do??? Plz help. You can email me at firefoxybaby@hotmail.com

wash it 3 times a day with sea salt--found at an organic foods store like Wild Oats
or, this doesn't work as well, but try washing with original, clear, unscented Softsoap--available at any grocery or WalMart.

This cleaning(oh and wash your hands 1st)will tighten the hole and smooth the rough edges. Try not to touch it alot and be sure to keep it free of moisture, so it tightens and heals (sounds gross, but like a scab tightens..) Sometimes I would quickly run the hair dryer past my nose while it was on low, just to dry off the moisture. Good luck.

I don't think you need to keep washing it so often. The skin around the hole needs to get dry to heal. Continuous washing may cause and infection by bacteria sitting in small wet gaps around your skin and the jewel.
I would use methylated spirit which you get from a chemist/pharmacist. This helps to clean and dry the wound at the same time. You will see in a matter of a day that the piercing will start to heal.
Meanwhile, if the jewel falls into your nose then I think tit would be best to get another jewel which is slightly bigger to stop it falling through.

what kind of soap are you using?
if i was you i would only use warm water and a small dixie cup and do some 30 second soaks. it seems like you are slowly tearing open your nostril ( dont be scared) plus the jewelry could be a bit heavier than you realize and if you are washing it like crazy with anti bacteria soap you are drying out your piercing. try non iodonized sea salt. use 1/8 teaspoon (half size of a dime) in a dixie cup with warm water to help with the healing/itching/and soreness.. sea salt is a natural healing mineral. a lot of piercers tell people to over clean a piercing.. if you need more advice here's an email of a piercer that i know can help you out... deardollface@gmail.com her name is lindsay.

mine did the same for the first couple of days...it's just healing and your nose is swollen...by all mean DO NOT take it out or it will close! but if u can't stand it then ur health is more important u can...u'll just have to get it re-pierced...one thing that maybe wrong is that the nose ring is too small for ur hole...so u may wanna change the gage or size...if it persists then go some place else...gud luck!

i have had my nose pierced since before it was cool. i took the piercing stud out right away ( 2 days after i got it done) and i put in a nose screw now i have one of those studs that are bent so they dont move around too much you can find them at claires accessories or any store like that. also if your hole does get infected clean it really good and then dip the tip of your new stud in polysporin anibacterial and it will clear up.

calm down first ok....maybe the jewelry is to small for the hole that they put in ur nose..secondly its going to hurt for awhile u have done trama to ur body and that is why it hurts most likely but...No i just got off the phone with a professional piercer for u and they said that that band is no good....they said that it is possible that u need a bigger gauge but until u start seeing puss u may remove the jewelry

I would suggest taking it out and let it close then in about a month get it repierced by someone else. that is what happened to my friend.

What do you know! Sometimes Mom and Dad are right after all!
Live and learn foxy. Don't worry it'll heal if you don't get MRSA.

Take out the piercing, keep the hole clean until it heals, and be thankful if you don't get a serious infection. Piercings are dumb.
