Well, I'm not sure about the law for in a pub, but I work in a grocery store, and we have 16 and 17 year olds serving alcohol. They all have the express permission from the store manager, and have signed the relevant documents to do so. If they serve someone under age, they will be stuck on for an £80 fixed penalty, and the store manager can be fined up to £20,000. When someone comes up to buy alcohol, the transaction needs to be authorised by a member of staff over 18.

No a sixteen 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous can't serve alcohol in any state in the union. And. while you're working in the back of a bar that serves alcohol, your employer might properly be in deep s**t. In countless states, you won't be in a position to even enter a bar at sixteen years previous.

No. Under the age of 18 the only job that you can do in a bar is collect glasses and there are time limits on what they work. They, like everyone else should also be paid via paycheck or they won't get national insurance or tax paid and not paying tax is illegal also.

I dont think they are! My sisters boyfriend is a bar manager in a resturant, anyone under 18 that he hires he gets them to work as a 'bar back' to pick up empty glasses, stock up the fridges etc, but he never lets them serve customers!
Im sure he has said they have to be 18+, otherwise his license and career is on the line!

totally illegal to be serving behind the bar,
landlady breaking law by serving them, and paying cash in hand is illegal too. if you report her chances are she would lose her licence for breaking several laws.

Call your local police and report everybody, and get out of the bar trade. There must be a better life out there somewhere for you, at 16.
