im not atheist but to the person who said the science thing, those are all theories, so it's just the same as living in a "fantasy" world. that's all. PEACE!

I don't think the universe "just happened". I think it evolved via the process of natural physical laws that govern the behavior and properties of every single thing in it, from the subatomic to the galactic. Please read the next paragraph or two and ask yourself if it sounds at least plausable. If you don't, you're the intellectually lazy one.
I think that you and I and oak trees and ants and bats and whales and the neighbor's cat all evolved from a single cell organism that gradually changed over time. When some factor in that organism's environment made it possible for certain individuals to reproduce more often than others, the characteristics of those individuals were passed on to its offspring. Those offspring will be better competitors for food, shelter, etc, and probably reproduce more than the slower, duller ones. Now multiply this effect by a billion changes, over 5 billion years, and the net effect is what you see around you.
BTW, this happens now with humans, including you. If you can make enough money to support your family well, odds are that you will have kids, and the traits that you have learned or are innate within you will be passed on to them. If you can't make enough money, odds are you and your family will probably be undernourished or have poor medical care, meaning it's less likely that you or they will have lots of offspring. It's not impossible, of course, just less likely.
Furthermore, I think it's intellectually lazy of anyone to just accept the word of what some religious authority tells them without doing some investigation into all the arguments. That would include researching the provability of claims on both side. What evidence do you have that the world is only 6-8,000 years old? What evidence to you have that a whole horde of people parted an ocean and walked through it, then caused it to collapse in on their pursuing enemies? How can you burn a bush and not consume it? Where's the residue of a global flood, and where did all that water come from, and go to?
And pick any 3 of the proofs on the website below, and try them. See which ones work or not.

or grow up in a household where u have a choice, and not need an excuse to be here. why can't religious ppl believe that we happened by chance? are u all just that affraid of not having an explanation?also i'm not intellectually lazy i want nothing to do with the mutilation, burning and destruction religion has caused over the years. ever heard of the witch trials back in the day? religion is fearful of women. if u want to represent that that is on ur concience buddy. i don't need to say i am a christian or catholic or hindu to know i am a good person. i also don't need to listen to a corrupt molester tell me that i have sinned and am going to hell for being human. religion does nothing but separate human kind and cause hatred something the bible tells us is wrong. so take ur pick. watch the divinci code its believable.

There is no such thing as faith to believe in a negative.
I simply lack the belief in a god because there is no evidence of which to speak for a god.
This is not intellectually lazy. It is LOGICAL.
If a god created the universes, yet wasn't created himself, didn't he just HAPPEN?
Falling into your OWN TRAP I daresay! Good for you! You proved to us you have no idea what you're talking about!
... pure chance... pure chance. Anyone who believes in Evolution think it's a RANDOM process? NOPE!
Sorry to be so harsh, but you DO seriously need to get educated before you go about believing in misconceptions of scientific theories.

No that's not true. It's lazy to just blindly believe the works of a 2000 year old book. It's intellectually lazy to NOT believe in science.
BTW...this is NOT a question. I should report you cause I keep getting answers deleted because they are not considered answers. But I'm not hateful enough to report something like that.

Do you believe that god creates each snowflake individually? Wow, no wonder he doesnt have time to deal with poverty and the war in Iraq! Also, you said it takes more faith to not believe then you say we are intellectually lazy. Which is it?

I guess it takes more faith not to believe that there's a magic teapot floating around in space, too.
Yes, it's intellectually lazy to study the universe and look for actual answers rather than say "a wizard did it" about anything you don't understand.

Which is more intellectually lazy? To think that science created a way for atoms to collect in the universe, forming planets, and random atoms collected to form single celled organisms which evolved through natural selection into different species over millions of years..... or that God created life, and thats that.
I'm also not an athiest, and I also think your argument is silly.

What's your point? Are you suggesting that atheists are .... s..stupid??
Well!! IT's the opposite my friend. People who believe that this whole universe, life and all, was created by a god person in 7 days. That my friend is called intellectually lazy because they refuse to dig into the truth and find evidence.

Ho hum. God gave me senses, so I use them. If you want to get into intellectually lazy, try to never use your brain to explore the world, get all your information about life from one book. It takes a great deal more faith to believe in the bible than any science. The bible paints god as jealous, angry, vengeful, sick and morbid. It is all just so silly I would have to be hit on the head with a sledge hammer to believe it.

Intellectually lazy to look for the truth rather than accepting a ridiculous proposition that has zero evidence to support it?
More faith not to believe than to believe... Do you believe in the invisible pink unicorn? If not, do you think it requires more faith not to, than to?
