The Apocalypse?

What is it exactly? And that movie "The Number 23" on Yahoo! Answers says The mayans believe the apocalypse will come on December 23, 2012. Is that true? Should we believe what a movie is saying? I don't know what to believe.

Apocalypse is the ending of one way and the beginning of a new way.
if your religious belief is Jewish or Christian its the imminent destruction of the world and the salvation of the righteous, with the Messiah leading the way.

it also means- a prophetic disclosure; a revelation.

and - great or total devastation; doom: the apocalypse of nuclear war.


one could possibly say that Japan has already experienced their apocalypse when the US dropped the atom bombs on their country.

A movie is far from a reliable source.
The Mayans may say what they wish ....perhaps, by chance, they may even be correct.
It doesnt matter.
It is the Bible that introduces the 'Apocalypse' to the world, so it is the BIBLE'S defintion ONLY that matters.
Actually, the word 'Apocalypse' is a tad off.
The word 'Revelation' is more exact.
The book is a REVELATION of the main events of our time.
The nice thing about Revelation is that, although it refers to an ending of society as we know it ...it also indicates that some will survive the end, just like the Flood.

I don't know what the movie is telling you but the Apocalypse is defiantly coming. That will be the releasing of the Vampires.They will victimize every one. Then you will know the wrath of the true God. Don't rejoice like some say. It will not be a pleasant time for anyone. Fear if you know the meaning of fear you will then.

Yes, the Maya calendar ends Dec 2012 (had to end at some point, no?)
The movie is being HYPED up to sell tickets. Movies are NOT a good source of accurate information.

Calm down its just a movie... I agree with the others that the bible does say no one but the father and the son knows the time of the end. If your that worried read the bible, pray and make yourself right with the one true God, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob the great I AM. If you have not already, accept his son Jesus Christ as your personal lord and savior and admit your a sinner and devote your life to him and his teachings.

no man knows when the world will end, the mayan calendar ends on dec. 23, 2012 that is all, it doesn't mean the world will end, I think there will be a cosmic alignment on that date though. Only GOD knows when the end will come.

It is another name for the book of "Revelation". The word means revelation in Greek. What we need to be prepared for is YAHOSHUA's pronouncement of Rev. 22:11. At that point our destiny is sealed!

The earth will not end because of the date. It will end because we'll blow each other up someday.
