Indeed, why should you?
Who wrote 'the bible' and why are there so many versions of it? Strange, since it's been written a long time ago, by authors of whom nobody knows who they were and where they go there info from.... Not to speak of the numerous translations of 'the bible', each giving it's own interpretation of it.... It's one of the best books ever, and one of the wisest stories, but why does it have to be more then a lesson to learn. Why take it literally?

Ana, take this literally. You are absolutely confused my dear. If you don't believe God could create the earth than why would you even be interested in any thing else He said if all you believe is that He's a good man. There are lots of good men but Jesus rose from the dead and more than just the Bible has written accounts of this. No other god even claimed to have done this.

Well, those parts of the Bible are not essential for a person's salvation. Why don't you start with believing the gospel accounts of the life of Jesus? Consider the gospel of Luke for instance.

Luke was a learned physician who went around interviewing people like a news reporter covering a story and then he wrote up his compilation of the eyewitness accounts and sent them to a friend to read.

"Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught. Luke 1:1-4

Prove it's wrong. If you can prove what the bible is stating is false, prove it. Apparently you have not read the bible. A lot of the information in the bible is the history that is being taught in schools. Hitler didn't believe either. Where do you think the moral laws come from? Do you really believe that these measly men on this earth thought them up?

Why indeed? But then, what's wrong with reading it for its literary and historical value, without having to decide what you believe and what you do not? In addition to the early passages that purport to be the history of the Jews, there is history in the very words used in the King James Bible, just as there is in Shakespeare. Both have been quoted so many times that a knowledge of the famous passages is a major assist when reading English literature.

Why don't you believe in Adam/Eve, Noah, Samson? No matter what you are thinking of the different stories, parables in the Bible... the main thing is belief in Jesus Christ. He is our savior and without accepting Him as that, we will not be saved.

I don't blame you. To me the bible is a telling of events As Seen Or Felt by the writers, nothing sacred or holy. There will be some things in the bible that did happen or exist, such as some of the cities and people. Kind of like if someone these days wrote a book of what happened, but believed in miracles, they'd write something similar.

You shouldn't....it's all or nothing. You would have no reason to worship a God who wasn't what he said he was...Creator of Heaven and Earth...because he'd be a liar. You may want to consider that whether you believe or not, the God in the beginning who created the earth is the same God in the middle and the end, the parts you seem to at least consider believing. You may also want to consider that whether you believe or not, you cannot escape the "end" so wouldn't it make sense to be prepared for it?

You are right. For example, I believe the Bible from A - Z. If I doubted one word in the Bible then I wouldn't believe any of it. So, is either I believe it is true or it is a lie - no in between.
