Worth is what someone is willing to pay for it. It is one of the artist's best known works so it is probably worth more than what is other works have sold for--see what his other works sold for and when, that might help, but really it all depends on who is at the auction bidding on it.

It is pure speculation as to how much that particular work costs, but taking into consideration this ressurgent uprise in art speculation and investment, and the fact that this painting in particular as well as some of his other works have been cited as a catalyst to the modern art movement, I would have to say an easy $10-15 million plus. The word priceless comes to mind although it's so overused these days because of those Mastercard commercials but in this case it fits because that work of art like many others would never be sold and is irreplaceable.
