First: I am NOT doctor, I just play one on the internet. The symptoms you describe sound like Sciatica. If I complain about back pain to a doctor I'm asked if the pain runs down my leg. Look up a picture of the human skeleton or spine. The spine is made up of bones which are separated and cushioned by discs. The sciatic nerve runs along the spine. Sometimes these spinal discs can get scooched out from between the bones of the spinal column and irritate the sciatic nerve. It doesn't have to be from an accident, and is in fact not uncommon in people. There can be many causes. First order of business is to get xrays to locate and identify the problem. Depending on what they show the treatment can vary from extreme (surgery) to more simple (exercise and heat). The doctor can recommend pain killers in the meantime. The medical specialty that deals with this kind of problem is Orthopedics.

Pain at lower back with leg is sciatica.
Neck pain may be cervical or inflamed muscle.
Only skilled acupuncturist can treat sciatica. If you get such go to him otherwise think visiting us. (quack can't treat it).
There is no medicine for both the problems. Pain killers is not the treatment.

I use a chiropractor who recommends -
Read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
Trigger points are knots in the muscles making them tight which in turn causes them to apply pressure to nerves and other places.
