If you are looking at 4 wheel drive, 30 miles per gallon will be tough to find. I think honda makes a decent suv that will get respectable mpg. Chevy Equinox will get around 24 mpg highway.

There is no such SUV with that type of gas mileage.
Honda has an SUV with reasonable gas mileage like 21-22.
Its got great power, 6 cylinder engine, etc. Hondas are always great buys, due to reliability and safety.

I would go with Honda. THe honda accord is a nice size and has rough 35mpg. I think the crv gets pretty good gas mileage as well. Check out their website. Next would probably be a toyota or nissan but Honda has one fo the best prices with good gas mileage and they run great. My friend has had hers for 8 years and no problems 300,000+ miles too.

The Pontiac Vibe gets 30+ mpg, is large enough to hold a lot of stuff and costs under 20,000. Plus it is basically a Toyota Matrix with a different name. (That means it lasts forever)
