My son did the same exact thing, he would coco butt ever time he had the oportunity and around the same age as yours. He got a reaction, cause it hurt!! out of people and like the attention it got him. He grew out of it and just stopped doing it but he coco-butted for about a year. Dont worry about it, unless of course its a fear of him hurting himself, Good luck.

Unless you think that there is something medically wrong, ignore the habit. He might be doing it as a way to attract attention.

Most boys are very active at this stage and it is best to find an outlet for their energy - a bike, a trampoline or a visit to the park.

If head butts and looks to you for approval/disapproval - simply look the other way.

This is 100% NORMAL! I have seen plenty of little kids who head butt (including my own) The head shaking is also normal...he has just learned some new tricks and is excited to show them off. Don't worry about it at all..he will grow out of this phase.

well yes it´s normal for most kid´s but not all the time . don´t want to alarm you , but one of my younger brother´s started to do this about the same age or even younger than your little boy. then he started to even run from as far away as possible and ram into the wall´s of the house, took him to the doctor and found he was autistic, always good to discuss these little worries with your GP. most likely it´s his age but have him checked
