If you are an atheist, who are you angry at? Is it organized religion or a religious community or God? Also, have you tried going to different churches if you are not happy with the one you grew up with? You can also go to Buddhist temples, Unorthodox Jewish Temples, and any type of Catholic or Protestant Church, etc. Have you ever explored any other community in order to find God? (I know some Christians won't like this, but I am just curious if they know they can try to find connections with the spiritual in other ways. I wouldn't have known it myself, but found out through a different source.) Thanks.

Frankly, since I don't believe in god, I'm kind of apathetic there.

I'm bothered by organized religion, as a whole, the church specifically. The practices of the church throughout history are in direct conflict with the things that they preach.

I get angry with those who attempt to use their faith as a means to claim a moral high-ground; or those who use that same faith as a means to attempt to legislate their version of morality; or those who cry "persecution" when people of other faiths are only asking for the same respect that the christians have been afforded for centuries; or those who wish to prevent children from being educated instead of indoctrinated.

I've explored other faiths and philosophies, and I tend to maintain a balance between the Medicine Wheel and Buddhism; only on the philosophical aspects though. I break from these traditions when it comes to their standpoint on spiritual/supernatural direction.

Girlfriend...you are very inquisitive...

I'm not angry. Maybe annoyed at certain kinds of people, but not angry. I have nothing against your god. I don't dislike the religious community. The only ones I have a problem with are those that have a problem with me.

Raised a nonbeliever, by parents who are just the same. Although my mother DID make sure I got the opportunity to see the other side of the issue, to understand it a little more and to better have the chance to decide for myself. But it was not for me, I was just never a believer.

Why do I HAVE to pick a way to be a believer? Why is non belief simply not an option? That's like picking another fortune cookie if the first just didn't tell you what you want to hear...

Atheists aren’t angry with anyone. We don’t believe in god….so obviously we aren’t angry with it. I think most atheists are annoyed because they are constantly attacked but creationists. It is too difficult for creations to provide any proof to their followers (because there is none) so they find it easier to rally them against non believers and blame all their problems on them. I have no problem with creationists, if they would shut up and not try to impose their beliefs on everyone else then there would be no issue Faith should be a personal issue that you discuss with your family and friends, it has no place in government/institution.

I was raised Catholic, turned Christian and then chose atheism. Although I did not major in bio in college, I took many classes, and it really opened my eyes to science and after further research I formed my opinion that god is a superstition. I don’t have all the answers, nor do I claim to, but I certainly don’t believe in the supernatural. It is not that I didn’t like the church; no other church would appeal to me any more. I am an atheist because of my education; I choose to be, not because of anger.

I have no problem with other people believing God, Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy as long as it doesn't do anybody any harm. But when I see the evil that is done in the name of religion, that makes me angry.

Why would I try other churches? They all presuppose that some sort of God exists, an idea that I find ludicrous in the extreme.

Stupid, ignorant people are what I'm angry at. For some reason the religious stuff I hear is from that type though I accept it could be a case of correlation not causation.

I'm not angry at God anymore than I'm jealous of Santa's many presents.

I am angry at the overly-motivated and arrogant christians who think their religion is the correct religion. I am angry at them because they push their beliefs onto us as individuals and onto our government. If christians weren't against gay marriage, it would be legal by now.
They are slowly trying to take over the world because they are self-righteous know-it-alls who think that God is the answer to everything and that God will solve everyone's problems. Well, God hasn't done crap in my life or the lives of my family and friends so I have no reason to believe in him. And the next Jehovah's witness that comes to my door, I will call the cops on them and claim harrassment. Christians are ego-maniacal, arrogant, hypocrites. More wars have been started in the name of God than for any other reason. They claim to follow the bible's teachings, but if you look at the history of Christianity, it would say otherwise.

Is that the problem with religious people? Are they all angry at something or someone? Do they think it is normal to spend their entire lives being angry? Is that why you asked the question?
Then no.. It is not normal to spend your life being angry. Maybe take your own advice there and change to something that makes you feel less angry.

Atheists aren't angry at anyone or anything. They just simply don't believe in god and/or organized religion. There is no proof that god exists. They usually agree with scientific theories, which to them hold more truth.

Well, I'm not angry at anyone. Nor am I dissatisfied. I just don't believe in it. I think that people should be smarter than that. I think they should look for answers, not more questions. Instead of just wondering, "Why are we here?" go find the answer.

I'm not angry or disappointed. And yes I have tried various religions. Being an atheist works for me. Believe it or not...I am quite happy with my life as it is now.
