EXACTLY!!!
Wait till u see all the bible thumpers that are gona have a go at u for this.
But i totally agree with u. No one actually knows who wrote it, and since that's all the evidence there is for Christianity then why should we waste our lives living by such tight rules when we could be having even more fun, when we have no evidence for the sh!t that's written there? Good point, glad it got u thinking!

Yes, it is real. It is a true guide books used to instill good virtues in its believers. It was written along time ago by many different people. Many seperate books that combined are the basis for most religious beliefs. Jesus was real. He is talked about in the Koran(sp?). But there is mentioned as a respected prophet.
But the book is older still finding it's origins in the Jewish Torah which was preceded by an Egyptian belief of a single God. It is said that Abraham, king of the Jews was a slave to this Pharoah and when the Pahroah was overthrown Abraham left, taking his people into the deserts and there he and his sons began the new religion of the one God. There's more here:

though I can't at the moment find the Pharoah info. Hope this helps.

You know what, I was asking the same thing.
Before making any conclusions, why not read the book first. I haven't read it, so I am making this answer as far as the movies are telling me.
I don't think that Jesus is transgendered. On the other hand, I also don't understand why they didn't include a woman instead of man, instead the former became an inferior to the latter in many respects. Are mothers supposed to be in superior or equal to that of man because they can create life that man can't. We are merely an ingredient or something.
Contrary to your point of view, I believe in the concept .of God. And for me, God is invisible. And it is beautiful, in fact so beautiful that it is incomparable. I also believe on its dark counterpart too, the Devil.
Whether the Bible is fictional or not, we just don't know. The Bible we have in today has been translated in different languages, passed different hands, different generations, and not to mention different versions.

the bible consists of 73 books by various authors. history and science both testify to the reality of many issues and events mentioned in the bible, there are also artefacts and archaelogical evidence for many of the people and events recorded. you can't prove that the bible is a work of fiction and by most standards the bbile contains more evidence of being real than being "some fictional book a guy wrote for gosh sakes".

Ignore what you "think" you know today or what others say as that is hear say. Think basic logic and put yourself in perspective of time.
The Bible has lasted for thousands of years, through numerous wars, over throwings, take overs, slaughters, etc.
Millions if not billions of men have followed it and I am sure millions of others have tried to debunk it. But guess what, its still here, in the same form, just as it should be.
Do you really think you are that much wiser than the millions that came before you? Remember, they had a live time to study and check the facts as they did not drive to work, have a job like we do, have video games to take up time, etc. A life time of nothing but study....yet the book remains.
Is that not proof enough that its real, speaks the truth and is the word of God?

The bible was a book that came from God. Not jesus. From the god that created every thing. The bible was god's book before. But over the years people started to add stuff and change stuff until it is no longer right no longer true, it is now fulled with lies and wrong stuf and stories. So I am tellin you that the bible now is wrong. The only right book now is the Quraan.

I have a feeling many stories in the Bible are fables, fictional tales meant to teach morals.
Not that I actually follow those fables. Then again, the Bible is super subjective, so who knows.

Well, the Bible is real in that it is a book you can see and touch. As for the majority of stories inside it, they are pure fiction.

crudely worded but at least you are starting to think critically.
This is a fairly interesting history of the bible:

with lots of links to related subjects. I learned more on the bible since I started posting here that I ever learned anywhere else.
