Nothing has changed in her eating habits. Health wise she is fine, but she is shedding more than usual. Quite alot. It's been going on for about 1 1/2 wks. What do you think is causing it? And is there anything I can do to minimize the shedding?

Corgis are a breed that sheds a lot, and they "blow coat" (shed a whole lot) twice a year. It sounds like that is what your dog is doing even though it is mixed with Chihuahua. There is nothing to worry about unless she is losing patches of hair and if she is getting bald spots call your vet. I would purchase a Furminator or ShedEnder and brush her daily. Also, you may want to put her on an omega fatty acid supplement to help keep the shedding to a minimum. There is nothing that you can do to stop the shedding, but you can keep it to a minimum.
