I mean, people are like, there is a god, and others are like, no there isnt and then we are arguing for some reason. Athiests are just as bad at trying to presuade christians of their beliefs as christians are. So i ask, why do we care about other peoples beliefs unless they effect us. Shouldnt we just live our lives with our beliefs and stop trying to convert everyone to be like us.

For the same reason that I would try to stop someone who was about to drive over a cliff. I don't want to see someone die -- physically or spiritually.

Christ commanded His disciples to preach the Gospel to all nations. I don't want to see anyone die without knowing Jesus as their Savior and spend eternity in Hell.

That is why I tell other people about Christ's love. I care too much to sit back and let them die without salvation.

If everything has a beginning and an end then we could not have always existed. Beginning implies that we had a starting point. I don't think our spirits are eternal. I think that our spirits are created and instilled in us before birth and because of Jesus sacrafice on the cross we can live in paradise with him forever. Or if we don't choose Him we can be with Satan forever in torment.

For more than 1000 yrs. theists have been trying to force their beliefs onto others, yet now that atheists are beginning to return their insults and harassment, you ask "why do we care about other people's beliefs?".
So many wars have been fought, and so many people have bee killed because of their "heresy",and now we have certain Muslims wanting to kill the "infidels" ;--isn't it about time we hash this thing out?
Who would ever have believed that religion would have turned into such an ugly thing.

I thank everyone has already but it don't stop the arguments. Do you want to take all the fun out of life too. Ever so often there is a success on both sides and that is another feather in our caps. So should we just give up?

If religion was benign I would agree with you. It is not. It is dangerous. As long as there are theistic belief systems, there will be fanatics willing to sacrifice this world and everyone on it for the sake of a position of importance in their imagined afterlife.

Ok let me ask you something--and this is out of sincere care for you- even though I do not know you. If you died today, after making that statement, and realized there not only was a God, but that Jesus Christ was the only way to heaven and salvation was only through Him---would that change your question now?
Would you realize that those who came here to share the gospel and truth with others did it because we do not want to see anyone go to hell? Does that concern you at all? Please know I write this out of care- and I truly hope you think about that.

You must be new to reality.

If you live in a democracy then YOUR BELIEFS DO AFFECT OTHERS!

And when you believe it is your duty to;
- Tell women what they can do with their bodies,
- Who is and isn't allowed to get married
- What research scientists are allowed to perform, etc.

Then you better be damned prepared for a reaction.

Politicians love it when we debate religion.

It takes the heat off of them.

If we do this, we won't be humans.
If we all believe the same, we may have to reason to chat with each other.
