Then by definition/quality of spirit:
Spirit is eternal.
Spirit is permanent.
Sprit is love.
Spirit is compassion.
Spirit is peace.
Spirit is conscious.
Spirit is alive.
Then why are we behaving and acting like an ignorant soul?

Because the human thought believes in itself and NOT God. The darkness does not comprehend the light.

Because we are not being obedient to the will of God, we are not being continuously filled with the Spirit of God unto all the fullness of God in Christ, and we are not believing wholeheartedly in His ability to cleanse us from all sin, to produce the righteousness of God in every measure in our lives, we are not believing he wants to produce holy lives in us. so what it all boils down to is - us the Christians who are called by His name who are not living the life of Christ that Christ lived, was crucified, buried and rose again that we might live to prove that he was truly sent into the world to produce.
