Movies and everyone tells me about love but when I watch movies it's different in real life and my bf and I don't act like they do in the movies at all and our love is more like a best friend thing but I don't know if that's how it's supposed to be. I mean we kiss all the time and stuff but normally it's almost like we're just best friends. Is that how it's supposed to be?????????????

There exists much confusion about what love really means.

I "love" chocolate cake and beagles, but I would never have sex with either of them.

The word love has become the pyrite of affection, replacing lust or desire in our common vernacular. Love is much deeper however, born of a togetherness and common bond, much more like a deep friendship. The only true forms of love I understand are love of parents for children and of families for their own blood.

If a person really loves you, he will exhibit the following qualities: longsuffering, patience, selflessness, humility, difficult to offend. Your friend knows all about you and likes you anyway. I think you'd have much better fortune in a relationship with him than with some other eye candy you may chance upon tomorrow.

Yes. That is how the relationship is suppose to be- he's not just a boy he's also your friend- your boy-friend. As time passes the relationship will get deeper but the most important thing that matters is that your happy in the relationship.

No one is going to be able to answer that completely for you. To me the person needs to complete you, make you want to be a better person, you have fun with them, you miss them when they are gone, you accept them for who they are and don't try to change them, love has not limits, its endless, it makes you do things that you would not do for anyone else. Don't confuse love with obsession, you need that person, or passion, its just a physical thing and it will end. Most people who love each other are good friends.
