I once saw Mt Everest in moonlight and it was the most spectacular thing I saw.It was my'burning bush': -I AM had spoken. How ,after seeing the marvelous things like the rotating and revolving of the Earth with such precision timing ,can people say" there is no God "?
I can understand your doubts:but I cannot understand wilful denial.

Because they've never experienced His Presence and felt His glory. Remember St. Paul said that the preaching of the Cross is foolishness to them that perish.

I think you're forgetting the faith factor skylolo.
When I was at school many years ago we went outside for a lesson as it was such nice weather. I don't know what quite what happened, but at one point I guess I was daydreaming. Anyway, I got this incredible feeling of 'oneness' with everything. Everything was so incredibly clear and I felt truly joyful.
The school I attended was a Christian one, but my experience didn't make me into a Christian, nor did it help me believe in god.
While we both experienced the wonder of the universe, it has affected us differently. Surely that is because you have faith. I do not.
If I told you that I do not believe that there are such things as unicorns, that the moon is made of cheese or that I can walk on water, you would accept me at my word, would you not? And yet, when I say I do not believe in god, you call it 'wilful denial'. I don't understand that.

I am an ordained Christian minister and I totally understand where atheists are coming from. There is no proof at all. To say that magnificent things could not come about by chance is a very limited point of view. If God individually controlled every aspect of every random thing all the time then really all gambling on cards or dice would show was how much God liked you on that occasion.
There are many great philosophical arguments for atheism too.
For example Epicurus said (in the 3rd century BC):
"God either wants to eliminate bad things and cannot, or can but does not want to, or neither wishes to nor can, or both wants to and can. If he wants to and cannot, he is weak -- and this does not apply to God. If he can but does not want to, then he is spiteful -- which is equally foreign to God's nature. If he neither wants to nor can, he is both weak and spiteful and so not a god. If he wants to and can, which is the only thing fitting for a god, where then do bad things come from? Or why does he not eliminate them?"
You see atheism is for the most part reasonable. I am glad to have my faith in God and that others have faith too. I do not think that God is simply self evident and that is why I have Faith in God not evidence.

i to see the beauty in these things, but then you tell me that one man created this one "person of a higher being" i tell you this u go outside and climb up a mountain in the spring and you find your self a little brook and then you hike along this brook until you find wildlife and i don't care what it is, a deer, a bunny, a bird with its babies, wildlife is some of the most beautiful sights in our world and then you tell me that one man did this not the rise and fall of millions of organisms through out time that has evolved into the beauty before your eyes. and now this one man of wich t there is nothing else .as compared to the millions of species. so yea i do not believe, compared to how a bird starts to change over time to become better able to survive., this i believe. this i can comprehend. compared to something that cannot be proven unless its by a book written by a man hundreds of years ago. I'm sorry if i do not let my mind open into a fantasy like that (no offense, for some i think religion is the best way, its got the human race this far hasn't it...

Let me tell you a similar story to yours about Mount Everest. I was out in the Texas Hill Country on a ranch, doing a bird survey. (I am a very serious birder) The group I was with went outside and set up our spotting scopes on the stars. It was an incredibly clear night with no moon and almost no artificial light. The Milky Way was spread across the sky. It was breathtaking! I was scanning the sky and felt the most amazing sense of joy. I turned to my companion, grinning ear to ear and said "THIS is why I dont believe in god". Did you see that coming?
Yes, that is why I dont believe. The universe is incredibly vast, uncomprehensible, yet religious people think there is some overlord of the whole thing who is just sitting there waiting for them to ask for a good parking spot at the mall. Its incredibly arrogant in my opinion.

Maybe you can believe something or someone has created all this beauty and marvel, or if it may be a mere scientific coincidence... But to say it's God? What' in a name? I can't believe in a God who takes interest in me personally. First of all, I don't dare to consider myself that important, and secondly, if there is a God that takes interest in me and others personally, I dare to say it's a true sadistic one... Look at what's happening to so many people right now and in the past.... You could argue that that's the work of the Satan, but still.... what's in a name??
Maybe God is something we all look for. Some find it in themselves and other people, while other experience this outside themselves, and being overwhelmed with the world and all it's beauty, call it God...

What God? ... what are you talking about? You saw nature in it's glory and you try to turn it into a supernatural phenomena , why do that? What's wrong with feeling awe at the majesty of nature and accepting it as such as atheists do. Tell me what Zeus had to do with the Mt Everest moonlight that night?

There is no God nor Evolution. see www.rael.org
we were intelligently designed. The Burning bush was nothing more than a light being shined on a bush in the dead of night. To primitive people, all they could write about was that the bush burned, but in daylight there was no sign of it being burnt - because a spotlight doesn't burn!
Look at the scriptures through scientific eyes. Read them again with our technology and see them for what they are. A true story about life being created by an advanced humanity.

So, something is beautiful therefore there is a god. You're right, how can atheists deny such impeccable logic.
I'm afraid your lack of understanding of atheism says more about you than it does about the atheists.

Are you asking this question because you truly want to know or are you trying to stir up a debate? Who cares why atheists don't believe in God?! You certainly don't. You are only here to provoke them and to further your cause. Well, you 've succeeded at provoking them but you're only hurting yourself. Live your life believing what you want. I will not ask any questions. You should try that yourself.
