I do believe in Jesus as our savior, I do not believe that he is Almighty. Here is the reason. 1st he Jesus said that he was the son of God and he related this to Mary at the time of his resurrection see John 20":17 The bible also supports this in many places, see Revelation 3:14, Colossians 1:15, John 14:28,John 16:28, Mathew 3:17 and to understand that he Jesus had a beginning see Proverbs 8:21-31 The difference between these scriptural thoughts and the teachings of main stream Christianity is that this is from the bible, where as main stream teaching is from the miss-use of certain scripture to support erroneous idea's of a Triune god head which started in the third century during Constantine's reign as a self made pope.
To have an honest idea of the truth a person should allow the scriptures to be the authority in their minds and hearts. not the teachings of un-inspired men. see 2 timothy 3:16

I do not believe in the christian god. Im a Pagan my family have been Pagans of one sort or another for many years. I read the bible as a child and at the tender age of 10 I realised it was just a faery tale. I prefer to put my faith in the things I see around me not some great sky pixie whos followers have been utterly barbaric through the centuries and still kill in the name of their 'god'. Im sure if there is a christian god SHE would be totally disgusted with the way some of her followers act in her name. The KKK claim to be god fearing..they do not seem to act in a christ like manner, nor do the pro life activists, if all life to them is sacred why plot to kill surgeons? Its an outdated religion that has caused many wars through the ages and I want nothing to do with it

Nope. Well I could go on all day, but let me just say that nothing about his story, from the creation onwards, makes any sense.

For example, he seperates light from dark on the first day, but only creates the Sun and the Moon on the fourth day.

On the second day he creates the Firmament, which seperates the waters below from the waters above. It was actually believed that a "lake" of water was held in the sky by this firmament. When it rained, it came through holes in this firmament.

These stories were written because people didn't understand the world around them, and they made up these stories as a means of explaining it.

Not really, I don't really know. I guess I hope that there is a God, it's a nice theory but since there is no proof I'm not convinced. The way I figure it- I'll live a good clean life and if I die and there is a God that's great and if not I'll never know anyway!!

you would need to have more faith not to believe in God actually. The Bible is known for it's power and fullfillment of prophesy--IN DETAIL-- Even scientists who claim to be atheists cannot explain it. Also, consider this. When the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, they took a modern day Bible and compared it to the original. After thousands of years of literal mouth to mouth transfer of the Bible book Isaiah (I think it was) you would expect the events to be completely different. But what was discovered was only mere grammatical errors! Think about it. It is damn near impossible to happen, but it did.

For the record, I believe in God, and Jesus is my Lord and Savior.

The reason why most people who don't believe in God is that they don't want to obey or be subjected to Him. However, these same people do not understand WHY He wants us to obey his commands.

Its very simple. The purpose of God's commands are to LEAD US TO BLESSINGS. A lot of people don't know however that Adam and Eve were created with this blessing by default, in the form of authority over the Earth. God's purpose for man was for him to rule over Earth, just like he does in Heaven. By sinning and being deceived by Satan in the Garden of Eden, they relinquished their authority and their blessing to the devil. Eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, we now have the seed of sin in the blood of man.

This where the role of Jesus steps in...

Although humans have sinned greatly throughout history, God still loved us and wanted us to have blessings and authority. The reason why Jesus was born through a virgin was because he must not inherit the blood of man and the seed of sin because sin is forgiven only through innocent blood (i.e. animals in Old Testament). When He died on the cross, He shed His blood and died under the sins of all mankind, so that everyone would be forgiven.

Note there were three days in between His death and His resurrection. In between these three days, Jesus went to Hell for the sole purpose of taking back the authority that had been given to Adam and every other human. After mission accomplished, he arose from the dead. This is why Jesus is called our Redeemer. What did he redeem ? ..the blessing and authority originally intended for us.

The reason why we must accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior is because he wants us to have the blessing and authority over this world. But how can you claim your prize if you refuse to believe that the person who has it is real or legit ?

It's like you can't pickup Social Security if don't believe in the government. Even if if you did believe the government exists but didn't have faith in it, you wouldn't bother at all
