EVERYONE has that problem.

Tell the "people" trying to "diagnose" you with a "disease" that you do not have one.

A ton of people have that problem. I used to. I found that reading certain self-help books can make a HUGE difference in your confidence level and how you see yourself.

However if you do have a social anxiety disorder, it might be something you will always struggle with unless you go on medication. If you go that route, be sure to ask your doc about zoloft-- i tried several meds and zoloft really did the trick i have zero anxiety now.... and the drug is known for working like that. Good luck!

This condition can be treated with a combination of medications and a therapy. There are many websites for people with social phobia - check them out and you will find a lot of advice there.

Some people think that social anxiety can not be successfully treated. You just have to get used to handling every situation as well as you can. The most important thing is to educate your family members, friends and colleagues about your condition. There is nothing shameful about it. People should be able to accommodate you.

Accept yourself for who you are. The majority of the population suffer from social anxiety at one time or another. What might help is take an effective speaking course at the college. It will help you face your fears and increase your confidence level.

I know how you feel. You will grow out of it in time, but meantime try to"get out there" even when you feel uncomfortable. It gets easier everytime you do it.
You also might try doing some volunteer work. Helping others makes you feel better about yourself... then you'll feel less shy.
