Don't think so. I hear hip bones hurt the worst. I went with my friend when she got a lower back tattoo and she said it hurts the most where the bones are, but she seemed to take the pain pretty well. Also, I hear girls take the pain better than men when getting a tattoo, haha. Good luck!

hell no. I have tattoos on my feet which hurt like hell. Out of my six tattoos, the lower back hurt the least. Ironically, I got my "tramp stamp" about 7 years ago and people still think I am "easy" even with the fact that my tattoo is huge, not dainty, and the fact that all my other tattoos are rather large as well. I am in a dedicated relationship, and even if people know this, they still assume lower back tats = easy.
My pain ranking would go as follows, from my least painful tattoo spot to my most painful:
Lower back
between my hip bones
between my shoulder blades
on my shoulder
on my feet (there are two tats on my feet, both of which nearly made me cry)
My friend has tattoos all up on down her arm aka sleeves) and she said the elbow hurts the most for her.

No. Lower back is actually a pretty easy place for a tattoo. Now if you were to get this tattoo on your upper back and shoulder blade area I would have to tell you that there is a lot more muscle and bone and it would hurt a hell of a lot more.
I have most of my back in ink and I can tell you this from my experience.
Good Luck to ya!

Ok I just got mine lower redone,,let me tell u it hurt really bad the second time around...The first time it was a little discomforting...But do me a favor make sure u do background work on who doe ur art..the first person scarred me really bad on my lower back thats why it hurt so much..now I have art everywhere on my body and alot of them didn't hurt....But each body is different and for every person their pain levels are different..I would say expect it to hurt maybe alot maybe alittle but expect something..then u know what ur walking urself into...if u want u are even welcome to check out a few of my back pics on http://myspace.com/swtnsxy23hotmama there are a few located there and there is even a before and after shot of my lower back piece...also it all depends on size and color as well so these are somethings u can think about before u get one done....

No it shouldn't hurt that much. The lower part of your back is just tissue so its like a fine point pen feeling. I just got one in that same spot about two weeks ago and it didn't hurt at all until he outlined it, it was just sort of a prickly feeling. Just make sure you dont scratch at it, just wash it often and cake on the vaseline.
