Unfortunately, even on the stuff you've paid off, nothing but time will remove them from your report. If you've paid them off, that shows up on the report that you paid. What are you disputing? If they are legitimate items, you aren't going to do any good disputing them.
You would be better off to try to improve your score in other ways like pay all bills on time. If you have a credit card, us it for groceries, everything, and then PAY THE BILL before the due date. Late payments do more damage than just about anything to your score. However, if you start establishing an on time payment record by using a credit card and paying it on time every month, it will improve your score.

If the items are paid off and are close the the 7 year mark, forget about them. The older the item, the less impact they have on your score. Paid items have less impact on you score than unpaid items. Even if you can remove a 6 year old paid item, your score won't change much.

Below are some techniques about removing negative items, which you can use if you have no unfavorable information in your report. OK, let's start with the technique that ignored by a lot of people.
DEBT to CREDIT RATIO: One of the falsest belief is "I have excellent credit, I pay all my bills off in full every month!". You have to get your "credit mindset" right. And the debt to credit ratio is the key point. What is debt to credit ratio? Debt to credit ratio is your ratio of debt to total available credit you have been extended.
