There is no age you "have to" be to get your period. Some girls may start it as early as 11 and others start it as late as 16 (yup it's true). I started at 15.

As young as 8, as old as 18. Ask your mom when she started hers, it will ususally be around the same age for you.
My grandma started at 18
My mom at 14.
Me at 14.
My poor neice was only 9.
One of my best friends started at age 8, which was sad because her dad raped her and she got pregnant.

well it all depends on the child and the history...one of my friends girl started her period when she was 7 and i also had a friend in high school who still didnt have her period when she graduated, so it just all depends on the child and history!
