And mustang............. the question asked was calculate dog years into human years, not the longevity of a dogs life. We all know lifespan depends on breed, and health......

It depends on the dog. The first couple of years is approximately 7 human years to their one... after that the larger the dog the more human years to dog in comparison to small dogs. It is a fact that the smaller the dog the longer the life expectancy.. therefore you cant apply 7 to1 across the board.

Ask a vet they will give you a good idea.

The first year of a dogs life is 14 years in ours. All the other years are 7 years to us.

No real formula for this, as an Irish Wolfhound or Great Dane can max out at 8, and a Schipperke or Italian Greyhound can live to 20+. Size is somewhat an issue, but not always. For example, Golden Retrievers are larger than Boxers, but Goldens live about 13 years, while Boxers live about 10. So, not matter what myths people believe, the breeds or mix influence longevity.

One human year = 7 dog years.

So if your dog is one year old, it's the equivalent of a year old human.

A dog that is 10 years old would be comparable to a 70 year old person.

It depends on the size of the dog (weight wise). The bigger the dog, the older they are. This is a great website to determine your dog's age - it is the same chart that my Vet has posted in her office.

what about a one day fly ,it lives its whole life in one day and as far as the fly is concerned it has had a full life ,the same applies to the dog.
get an Elephant ,crocodile .Parrot or a turtle ,they live as long as we do
