Well, if this is something you feel truly called to do, then you will discover a method that works for you. If this is something you would like to do for yourself, it will be a little harder but I believe it could still be done. I always ask (prayer) for assistance when I attempt a new task. I've never considered memorizing the bible before, it would be nice to not have to look things up all the time. But many times when I look something up, it leads to a new discovery which is very cool! I've been called to understand the Word, I don't know if that means I will eventually have it all memorized, like numbers of verses and such. I focus more on the relativity of the story.

I would suggest you read a lot. Mighty i recommend instead of memorizing the whole bible, study it progressively. Looking for connections and parallels between various parts. this way if you fail in memorizing the whole thing you will at least have a deep understanding of what you did cover and simpler knowledge of many other scriptures.

The book of life and The Holy Bible are not the same thing.
the book of life mentioned in the Bible is God's book of the redeemed. That is for God and not for us.
The book of life here on earth, from what I've read is some kind of cosmic super mind thing.
Not even close to being the same thing, dude.

As they say in Russia: Repetition is the Mother of Learning

FYI #1: What constitutes "The Word of God" varies according to faith.

FYI #2: I am not a "heathen."

The mind is like a muscle the more you use it, the better it will work for you...As for the Bible.....Start small....like John chapter 1.....then chapter 2....when you've memorized the whole book, start on another one.

The book of life is actually a different book....the one Jesus keeps in Heaven.

God bless you my sibling in Christ.

I don't think you can memorize it word for word in it's entirety. You can read it, study it, pray about it and live it. This should help you achieve pretty much the same results you would expect to achieve by memorizing it but know that this will take some time. Go for it and good luck.

Truthfully, there is no need to. I'm not much into religion, but i used to be. From what I have learned over the years, God would not expect, nor need you to memorize the whole book. Not even the greatest evangelicals have it memorized. Learning key versus that mean something to YOU might be a more helpful quest...

the only way is to live your life accordingly to the bible. i dont know if you can exactly memorze every detail, but the only way to know the bible inside and out is to medidate, pray, worship, and live a holy life. The bible tells you how a holy person should live, and practicing it would get you familiar. read the bible daily and pray. have quiet times where you are just alone talking to God
