it just depends on the person. There is no actual time period but with time your heart will mend and you'll be ready to move on!

A long time, honey. A loooooooooong time. It really depends on how badly you have been hurt. My broken heart took 7 1/2 months but it wasn't a super bad thing, a guy I had a HUGE crush on was leading me on for about a month or two. So that really hurt. So if you got hurt really, really, REALLY bad, I'm just estimating about a year or two??

All depends on how you handle it. do the crying and complaining and the anger and do not hold it in. their is a period of mourning you must go through. once you've let it out, start to think about fun things. things you'd like to do with your friends that maybe you could not do easily when you were in a relationship. write down all the good things about what has happened and concentrate on that. try not to dwell on the past. look to the future. be positive. you may have a scar left on your heart forever but we all have scars. sometimes we learn from them. the time to mend varies by how serious the injury was. i think you'll be fine. just use positive and forward thinking. good luck.

you cant put a time on it, some people never get over it and others take a few days or weeks. A helpful way is to meet someone new to take your mind off it

Sarah,
It depens on how you handle it. I am 29 and I will always love the person of five years, however, look at what you will gain instead of what u might think your loosing. And if your young live it up and be wise, and dont settle for what you dont want you will never change a person.

Depends. If you want to be miserable, then it will last quite awhile. But if you've decided to get over it and move on... Maybe two weeks. So, ball is in your court, you decide. Seriously. You have the control.
