He has also vomited a little bit, stomach vial. He still has an appetite and is upbeat. He's always had a weak stomach, and often vomits if he drinks too much water too fast. The excessive drooling is not common for him. I have some canine cephlexin 500 mg i was wondering if giving him this would help. Thank you.

They said vomiting, diahrrea (sp),loss of appetite and lathargicness would be obvious. The only thing I've noticed is a little bit of drooling and a wet nose. He's his usual self otherwise. He's an 80 lb. APBT, he only had a spoonful. I don't give him people food, but I saw the dog whisperer and Ceaser Milan gave his dog Peanut Butter as a treat, so I did too, but just a spoonful. I also got sick about a week ago, but it was a one night thing I though it was was something I ate, and it was darm wal mart peanut butter.

Relax. The peanut butter didn't hurt your dog. The FDA has stated that, "salmonella is not harmful to dogs". Salmonella and e-coli are shed many times in a healthy dog or cat. The high levels of hydrochloric acid in your pet’s stomach keep the ‘bad’ bacteria from overpopulating a healthy dog or cat’s stomach. Don't give him medicine, and if your concerned about the excessive drooling you can ask your vet. It's not the peanut butter though, maybe your just a good cook :-)

For Pete sake call your vet and tell them what happened!!! They can advise you better than anyone here. Use some common sence, don't give the dog any medication it could make things worse. The anitbiotic you have is NOT the one for salmonella bacteria so dont give him anything.
It would have taken you less time to call your vet than to log on to this sight and ask this question!!!!
CALL YOUR VET NOW!!!

weather it was the peanut butter or not I would recommend giving him some Luke warm milk. Don't give him very hard food. If it gets worse then take him to a vet. Goodluck and I hope that he feels better.

If you read all the details on the question folks you could see that she already called a vet. Before criticizing someone you may want to read the whole question. Oh, by the way, call the vet again beforegiving him the meds.

Call your vet because he might either have salmonella or parvo the beginning of it. As far as the cephlexin it might not help him because it might be something else. I do know that some OTC medicines can be helpful to the animals. The website to go to for help for animals is Googles Ask (Ask.com) and ask what to do about animal health problems. They should be able to help you...

Don't give him any drugs without the vet telling you to. If he develops severe diarrhea or vomiting take him to the vet, otherwise don't worry about it.

WHY DID YOU GIVE HIM THE RECALLED PEANUT BUTTER!?! DIDN'T YOU HEAR THE RECALL!?! DON'T DO IT AGAIN!!!!!
Consult the vet right away. I think that most human contaminations, such as E-coli and Salmonella, can make them sick. CONSULT THE VET ASAP!!!

Contact a vet.
Peanut butter isn't good for any animal, exactly.
