The reason why i ask is because I have been broken up with this guy I use to date for five years now but we stilll seem to keep in touch and I everytime we see eachother occasionally it's like we never split up but life situations prevents us from getting back together. And eventhough we do not see eachother I still feel a strong spiritual connection to him and I love him more now than I did then How can i find out if he feels the same way without asking him?

I did not mean to say we have been together for five years I meant we have dated for two and communicating for three.

You just know because the thought of ever being with someone else makes you so sick you can't even picture it.

That's love, man. Can you picture yourself with someone else?

I have a guy like that and its amazing really that you can go so long without talking or seeing each but when you see him its like you never left each other. If you are meant to be, it will happen. Honestly you shouldnt let stupid reasons keep you away from someone you love. I say you tell him how you feel. Since you were together for 5 years he should understand. Now if he cheated then that is a reason to not be together. Good luck

Here's a revelation -- your soulmates (yes, plural) do not also have to be love interests. It is possible to have a platonic soulmate.

Like you said, you sense a strong, spiritual connection and the love you have for him may be spiritual as well. This love, called Agape, is a kind of soulful, unconditional love.

Soulmates share a common spiritual connection between them. Hence, the term "soul" in soulmate.

The term originated from the Biblical story of Adamand Eve who were originally two conjoined souls, but later split into separate ones who instantly recognized that they had originally ben one whole soul.

BUT...if you broken up with this guy, then perhaps he is the platonic kind of soulmate and not the erotic kind.

As for your last question, there is no substitue for direct communication -- talk to him.

I have the same issue going on right now. I totally love this man, but our situations prevent us from getting back together. Just be prepared for it not to happen. Try to talk with him more and set up a time to see him when you are in town. Maybe something will happen from there. If it doesn't happen try to accept it and see other people as crappy as it is. It really does suck.
