a silverfish,... interesting critter, unchanged in millions of years, just like roaches and scorpions, but not of the same genus nor species, of course. Google them.... they eat your sweaters (wool)

I'd second the silverfish opinion, especially if it was found on land. Check out silverfish on google images.

It does look as if a crab and provided that it has in elementary words 4 glaring legs i might want to assert it replaced into some type of hermit crab. possibly it idea the cookie jar might want to be its new shell. in case you stay close to the coastline attempt to come across a tremendous adequate shell for it to apply then launch it close to a rock pool.
