First you need to decide which car you really want. Whenever you decide to invest in a musclecar, you need to find out as much as you can about that car. There are lots of books, magazines, and clubs devoted to both cars you mentioned. Go on there website and learn all you can, especially with the goat, people can take a tempest or Lemans, change engines, badges, and even V.I.N. numbers and make a phony GTO out of it. The car will look like a GTO, but it wont be worth the money. After you've educated yourself, you will be able to decide exactly what car you want, what options you want, and whether or not you want to buy an unrestored piece to bring back the way you want, or buy one already done. You live in California, there is allot of car shows on the weekends, go to these and talk to people, take your time and make an educated informed decision and you'll come out ahead. Hope this helps.
