Usually for the big companies (in the USA), you have to be 23 or so... here are some options:

1) Contact the guy that hit you. Tell him you need a car and explain the problem maybe, just maybe he has a solution that will get you a car and save him some money - who knows, its worth a try.

2) Downgrade your aims. Call -rent-a-wreck or a place like that. The cars look like sh*t but they are safe and they run. They may have a lower age limit.

3) Consider purchasing a beater for the duration of the repairs. Here in California you can get your own running wreck for between $300 and $500. Then simply transfer insurance, use it for the period you need it and sell it. hen you ask the insurance company to pay for any difference between the purchase and the sale as the cost for temporary transportation.

4) Can you rent a friends car? Set a price, pay it, and get a receipt. The insurance company (or the guy that hit you) should pay for it.

5) Check with the other guy or his insurance company. Can you use a taxi or transportation service?

6) See what your insurance company has to offer, if anything.

7) If you know where you are going to take the car for repairs, does that shop have a 'loaner' vehicle.

Hope that these help???

Do you have a major airport close by? Go there and rent, usually at the airport they will allow rental down to 21, 18 in some cases. You will need a credit card, and the chances are there will be a daily surcharge added on also.

If you aren't near an airport, he will have to wait until he's 25. But perhaps it's a good time to look into public transportation in your area.

I rented a car from Dollar 2 months ago. I am 22. However, they charged me $25 per day since I was under 25.

Enterprise's age limit is 21 years, but you can pay a fee per day if you are under 21. It is a large fee like $50/day on top of the rental rate. If it was not his fault then the other company has to pay whatever the rate is to put him in a car. If they already have accepted 100% blame.

Would it be less headache for you if you just rent one for him instead, its your boyfriend! Or even better, log onto any rental cars website, they'll have all the aging rental for you and price. Also, all you have to do is call one of the local rental company and ask, there's no need to ask us for this second opnion!

You have to be 21 for most companies and have a major credit card. Oh yes, and a valid drivers license.

It depends on the company,, Most for insurance purposes make you be 25, but My hubby got one for me and it waS IN my name(24), but it costed like an extra 300.00 deposit.. I went to 6 differnt companies and only one would let me. If you have full insurance, you should call the insurance company, they might cover it. Good Luck

I think in most states the age is 23 and his rate will depend on his driving record & insurance coverage ... because he's 21 he's considered a risk. sorry :(

Call a rental place. I think 21 is old enough.
