college will never work out for me ( was one of the most highest achieving students in high school, got ADHD and just cannot get the help I need) The only plausible way I can do it it is reduced workload and no college will do it. I really want to make something of myself and i refuse to kiss societies butt to do it. Iam looking at the military but i refuse to do enlisted ( I do that and Iam letting the college board have an impact on my life and I choose death over that by all means literally) Iam looking into ROTC and such. Is there anyway I can receive appropriate help for me being able to function in the school enviorment? My problem is that iam slow at reading and school work and test taking and it will never get better. If I was allowed extra time and a reasonably reduced workload (assignment wise cause i need time to do my assignments with my full timeframe) I can do it. I will give 110% to anything and the college here will not help. Can the military help me in this matter?

With a problem like yours, the military will not take you. In basic training there is a lot of classroom work, field work, working on your own. Stuff is thrown at recruits so fast that not all can handle it.
Glenn Beck, the late morning talk show host says he has ADD, and his ratings are number three in radio talk shows. You will have to try to find out what you can do best.

If you refuse to "kiss society's butt" you won't make it in the military. The military has a large emphasis on politics and brown nosing. AND... if you can't handle a normal load of classes then you can't handle being an officer. You don't deserve to be in charge of hard working enlisted military members (which you seem to frown upon) when you can't do assignments in a timely manner.

ADHD does not disqualify you from enlistment. You just have to be off medication for a certain amount of time before you can enlist.

the adhd doesnt just show up. you have to be born with it..the military can pay you for college or while on active duty there are off duty colleges that are self paced and that might be your answer.when you get off duty everyday you can walk to class ..take the courses at night and still have a college savings program for when you get out... not too sure about going in as an officer...I think that requires a degree or diploma of sorts

You can't handle a regular college courseload, but you think you've got the right stuff to be a military officer? Think again.

Were you diagnosed with ADHD by a doctor? If so, all your other questions are irrelevant because having been diagnosed with ADHD disqualifies you from enlistment.

Yeah, go guard, join ROTC, get some money for college, go to training once a month, then go to basic, then go to ait. Its a good life and it will definitly give you a ton of training that you can use for the rest of your life.
