he does not get a salary. some popes do have moneis that come in from books they write or such - these funds are not their own and go to various charities. while they are often given gifts from various dignitaries, upon their death, they remain in the vatican.
when pope john paul 2 had a milestone anniversary a number of the diocese, cardinals, etc did make donations. with this he had the popes chapel in the vatican re-done. there are the most amazing moasic's on the 4 walls -- past through present -they are just stunning. the rest went to his cultural center in DC right by the Basicila of the Immaculate Conception.

Nothing. He has to live and work free for the sake of his designation. But some authorities do pay him as a token of respect and reverance.

He is given about everything he needs.I really don't think he gets a check.All of his daily needs are provided by the church.
