My 14 month old daughter accidently scratched my eyeball this morning and now it is watery and it hurts. It feels like i have a bunch of eyelashes in it but there is nothing there. And there is no visible scratch so i dont want to waste money on an appt. to see the eye doctor.

You could go to your local pharmacy either drug store or grocery store pharmacist, and have them take a look at your eye for you. More times than not, they can advise you on what you should do,and if your daughter scratched your eyeball accidentally,I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you get it looked at right away by a pharmacist,so they can advise you as to what over the counter products might bring you some relief. I will warn you that if you pharmacist sees your eye,and they suggest that you go to a doctor,LISTEN TO THE PHARMACIST!! I have known people that have gone blind, because they just brushed off medical advice like it wasn't a big deal, they didn't get the proper medical treatment, and have lost their sight!

My intent is not to scare you,but with something as sensitive and precious as your eyesight,it is always better to be safe than sorry! PLEASE go and have a pharmacist look at it,they will look at it FOR FREE and then advise you as to what you should do! PLEASE let us know how everything goes for you! You are in my thoughts and prayers!! ((((HUGS))))) ;-)

You probably have a scratched cornea...you won't be able to see it but an eye doctor can with eye drops and an instrument called a slit lamp.

Please go see your eye doctor as soon as possible...he/she can PRESCRIBE antibiotic drops.

A pharmacist CANNOT dispense ophthalmic antibiotics without a dr's presciption.

spend the money...most scratches to the eye can only be seen with a dye and ulta violet light...this can become infected if gone untreated...

Just use LUBRICANT. ITS NON TOXIC, AND NOT HARMFUL...TATALLY SAFE FOR EYES...AND CAN BE INSERTED AS MANY TIMES AS U WANTS. use lubricants like CMC(carboxy methyl cellulose) but it should be with minimum preservetives.
