If this is so, do those who believe this also believe God dwells in Murders, Rapest, etc....?

If you do believe he dwells in those types of people why do they still do the things they do?

Yep...remember, the commandment to love has no astericks. Some convert for their own selfish will...others truly do...God knows which is which.

God dwells within all born of God and baptized in His Spirit.

No. The Love of God doesn't dwell in murderers or rapists, etc... If someone hates fellow Christians, how can that person have the Love of God. Read 1-3 John.

It is written that God dwells in the praises of His People. That is corporate praise also. So, when people corporately praise God in Worship service, God is in this place.

And many times a murderer or rapist may come to repentence and ask Jesus to come into their heart, confessing Jesus Christ their Lord & Savior & believe in their heart He shed His blood for the remission of their sins and raised from the dead for their justification. Then person is no longer a murder or rapest, and is born of God, part of the family of God and then also is sealed of the Holy Spirit who is with the baby Christian and will fill the baby Christian. Then that ex murder & ex rapist is a new person in Christ, clothed in Christ righteousness. And Gods love dwells in that person.

there is probably no right or wrong answer to your question and is very complicated in itself.

I believe that we all have a conscious mind as to what is right and what is wrong. We were all raised a bit differently also. I think that what you acquire throughout your childhood will some how manifest itself in your actions as an adult.
I was raised Christian and learned great morals when I was young. I have now settled on not making religion the main focus of my everyday life. I focus more on trying to do the best I can and put my best face forward.
So in other words, I'm not waiting for "god" to dwell in me. It's a personal commitment to be a good all around human.
Those that do all the crimes you just described have not made that commitment to themselves nor to others. Therefore pushing reasoning, god, society and their conscious mind aside.
Something I'll always keep with me is the thought that god is always waiting. Waiting by your side. Waiting for us to let him guide us through life. Some just choose to let him wait.

I believe God dwells in those who accept him to be a part of them. Everyone is given the choice..even murderers and rapests, but not everyone accepts it. Once you do accept it and become "saved", then you have the spirit of God dwelling in you.

If the murder, rapist etc have repented yes, God will dwell in them, or try and have another believer help them understand.

Once a person accepts Jesus into their lives they are a new creation, they will turn away from the evil they did before being saved.

I attended church eleven years twice a week until I was sixteen years old. From my observation we were all a bunch of rude, ugly self centered kids including me who God never came near. I feel, I know I am a much better person now. I have been an Atheists for the past two years since I stopped attending Church..

God dwells in those that invite Him in. He will never impose himself on us. We have free will to choose if we will place Him in control of our lives or live for ourselves.

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of the light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord" (Eph 5:-10)

So yes God can dwell in those who have formerly been evil, for Love covers a multitude of sins, those who are truly in Christ are a new creation, but while they are committing evil deeds they are in a state of sin, which is seperated from God.

God cannot live in unholy places, some believe. I will say that no, God does not dwell in those people... I say that they have the potential to know him and that, plus the fact God made us in his image is why people say God is in all of us; as to say "we have the potential to be similar to God."

I would say do not believe everything you hear in Churches these days. Be very selective. It's too bad but, the smoke of Satan has entered just about everywhere.

You obviously know that what you hear at your church is untrue.

God's Spirit only dwells in the person who has commited his/her life to Him. Asking for forgiveness of sins, repenting, and living their lives for God, and not just to please themselves.
