Hello. I was diagnosed with depression, I also started smoking. I want to know if smoking affects the depression or worsen it.
Or there is no problem on smoking?

I'm not sure I understand from your question if you started smoking first or if you were diagnosed with depression first.
If the smoking came first and you are wondering if it could have caused your depression...I don't know, I don't think there is any evidence that there is a link between the 2 but you could check with your doctor. I do know that cigarettes contain alot of chemicals and drugs and since depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain...maybe the 2 are related but...I'm not a doctor.
If you are saying that you started smoking shortly after being diagnosed then it could be a form of self medicating. This is common with mental disorders. Since nicotine is a drug and many many people (myself included) have used cigarette smoking as a stress releaver.....Talk to your Psychiatrist or Psychologist about it. I don't think it was a coincidence that you started smoking around the time you were diagnosed.
If you can get the depression under control maybe you can start tackling the smoking and stop doing it before you become addicted to the nicotine. No matter what anyone tells you, smoking is extremely hard to quit doing once you are hooked and it doesn't take long to become hooked.
Best of Luck!

Smoking lower your oxygen intake for up to 24 hours after your last cigarette. This can affect your mood just like lack of sunshine will. Smoking is also linked to adhd, some forms of cancer, asthma, colds and pneumonia in both adults and children. You gotta figure that any thing that makes you more likely to get sick will affect your mood. Also the people around you are having their health affected by just 5 minutes of breathing your smoke. Breast cancer is also now liked to smoke from other people as well as your own.

Loading your body up with toxins won't allow your body/mind to function very efficiently. Generally speaking, ammonia, arsenic, butane, formaldehyde and turpentine aren't the best things to feed your body. I'm sorry you're depressed.

It is another form of harming yourself. You need to be focusing on things you can do that makes you feel healthy.

I would think yellowed teeth and fingers, emphysema, smoke breath, and premature death would depress anyone.
