When did Jehovah die? And if you don't think he did can you explain this bible verse?

"I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades" Revelation 1:18

I'm a Jehovah's Witness. Jehovah God is immortal. This verse refers to Jesus. It wants to say that Jesus Christ has the power to resurrect the dead ones.
If you would read the verse carefully you would notice that it says about someone who died and who was resurrected. So, logically is about Jesus.
This verse also shows that Jesus is not a part of a trinity.

All who are to be associated with Christ in his heavenly Kingdom must eventually die. But they well know the assurance that he gave when he said: “I became dead, but, look! I am living forever and ever, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.” (Revelation 1:18) What did he mean? He was calling attention to his own experience. He too had died. But God did not leave him in Hades. On the third day, Jehovah personally raised him to spirit life and conferred immortality upon him. (Acts 2:32, 33; 10:40)

In addition, God gave him “the keys of death and of Hades” to use in releasing others from mankind’s common grave and from the effects of Adamic sin. Because he possesses those keys, Jesus is able to raise his faithful followers from the dead. He resurrects the spirit-anointed members of his congregation first, giving them the precious gift of immortal life in heaven, just as his Father gave him.

Jesus was indeed “the First” human to be resurrected to immortal spirit life. (Colossians 1:18) Moreover, he is “the Last” to be so resurrected by Jehovah personally. Thus, he becomes “the living one, living forever and ever.” He enjoys immortality. In this, he is like his immortal Father, who is called “the living God.” (Revelation 7:2; Psalm 42:2) For all others of humanity, Jesus himself is “the resurrection and the life.”

If you look back in Revelation to verse 1:13 "son of man" refers to Jesus. so yes it is referring to Jesus when he was killed on Earth. He was then raised to heaven where he has been serving as Jehovah's assistant so to speak.
Good Question!

Just so you know, Witnesses do believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God. They also believe that he died and was resurrected.

They also have their own translation of the bible, so the verse you quoted might appear differently in their translation so as not to invoke any trinity issues.

MOREOVER, they are super-duper eager to talk to you about their religion, so if you have any questions, you can just saunter down to the nearest Kingdom Hall (look in the phone book) and have a nice conversation.
