God is in heaven which is just above the firmament. The firmament is where the lights god created (what we call the sun, moon, planets, and stars) are embedded. While we don't know exactly how far up the firmament is, it is clearly reachable by man via a ladder (Jacob) or tower (Babel).

Of course all this "Astronomy" stuff is just a theory and the moon landings and planetary probes were all filmed in Hollywood to test our faith.
