My friends boyfriend was on probation for DUI or DWI...not sure which. He is on driving restriction other then going to and from work until 2009 and is on probation. Recently my friend rented a car in her name, then he used the car to drive to another town. Along the way he was caught speeding. She talked the cop out of arresting him when she went to pick up the car, however his insurance is dropping him, they are having to sell his truck and are concerned now when he goes to court if he will go to jail or have his driving privideges taken away for life.

I would like anyones advice as to how to help them, and if you have seen this situation happen before what happened. She is very worried he will never drive again as they have a daughter together and she is very busy.

He dug his own crap hole and now his wife has to deal with it. Maybe he should grow up and help take care of his kid instead of going out and getting drunk. He can still ride a bike and there is such a thing as public transportation. the same thing happened to my sister's husband and she wanted a pity party from me. I told both her and her loser husband to grow up. Funny, she doesn't call me anymore... Anyway, he should have thought of his family first but he screwed that all up. What might happen is a few years of a suspended license and when he can drive again, a breathalizer will need to be installed on the car in order for the car to start. that's what happened to my sis's husband.

i was on probation for dui and i got pulled over for speeding too. they wont revoke his license for the rest of his life, but he might get it suspended for a year or so. also, if he was on probabtion, he could face either jail time or a longer probation period. when i went to court, i lost my license for another 6 months and i got arrested (at the courthouse) for violating my probation. On top of that, they extended my probation for another 6 months. but that was here in FL, im not sure of the laws in your area.

They need to contact a lawyer. It's amazing what they can get you out of. BUT it will cost them. Then he needs to get his s*** together and act like a responsible adult or she needs to tell him to hit the road. What kind of a loser drives a car on a suspended licence and then SPEEDS? Does he have a brain? At some point he needs to take responsibility for his actions. She is enabling him, because she thinks she needs him. She doesn't. He is going to drag her down with him.

Sounds like a dangerous driver who's had several chances and refuses to change his behavior. He _should_ lose his driving privileges before he kills someone.

Why would she want him to drive around with her daugher in the car?

Sounds to me that he's got it coming... Get him a gift card to a taxi service for his birthday.

Let him wallow in his own misery. I don't feel sorry for him and neither should you. If he goes to jail then bye-bye!
