My sister in-law's step father has goten out of prison early. He killed her mother thinking it was her walking though the door. She was only eight years old. He was trying to kill her because she told her mother he was rapeing her. She has no family now but ours. He got out six days ago, and she is really scared he'll come after her what should I tell her?

how old is she? well just tell her, he forgot all about her and that you and your family will do everything they can to protect her, that he doesn't know how to find you and there is nothing to worry about. worked for me when i found out about that girl, elizabeth smart. i thought someone was gonna kidnap me like she was kidnapped. try that, and try to do things that will keep him off her mind.

perk up, have a cup of coffee and be happy!

How long has he been in jail? I would have her stay with you if at all possible. Try and have someone there at all times with her. Go to your local police station and file a restraining order against her step-father. If that doesn't work talk to someone about putting your sister-in-law into the witness protection program. I hope this helps.

To answer your 1st question 1st...I call my MIL by her first name...As a child i learned that i had a mom, and I don't need to claim anyone else's mother. Because you married your husband i would say that there is nothing you can do about her personality and the feelings that she has towards you. maybe you could ask your husband to sit her down and talk to her. Its his mom, or you guys could even try to do it together, but it may get difficult because of the way she treats you, you need to tell her exactly how you feel about the whole situation, including her disrespectful treatment towards your family. Dont start putting yourself off because of her bad behavior. Continue to run your home the way you seee fit. i wish you the best of luck.

She can get in touch with the cops & get on a witness protection program,or all I can say is move far away and change her look. She can also learn how to defend herself, get a license to carry a gun, learn how to shoo it,and some self defense classes wouldn't hurt.

That's awful. I have never known of anyone in that plight. I can't imagine that. What did the rest of the family do?
