If you have a LUSH shop in your town they do a great solid shampoo for greasy hair with dandruff; it's got juniper essential oils in it, which is a natural astringent, leaves the hair clean and soft with out making it oily; you can also buy their stuff on the internet.
T Gel shampoo is also good, and they do a lotion too.
Coal tar shampoo is also recommended for dry scalp conditions; there is a whole world of products out there to help control dandruff which are NOT Head and Shoulders. Go to a good pharmacist for advice.

Hi,i have the same problem i wash my hair one day the next it's greasy,i tryed talcum powder on the roots but i prefer to tie my hair back then wash and shampoo the roots makes your hair look a lot fresher and that way your only washing and drying the roots not all the hair so it takes a lot less time,i don't have a solution for the dandruff as i only get it at certain times of the year could be the weather? so i just have to put up with it,Hope i helped x

it may be an urban myth but i've heard that head & shoulders works by stripping the top layer of your scalp stopping flakes for a bit?

have you tried snake oil?

http://www.lush.co.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=214

"Melt this on your fingertips and rub it into your scalp; its collection of peppermint, lavender and tea tree oils helps to get rid of the microbes which cause dandruff. Keep your scalp clear with a Snake Oil bar and if you get the chance, get someone to give you a head massage with one because it feels wonderful."

giving your scalp a break from chemicals might help. lush have mail order if you're not close to a shop, they have lovely smelling shampoos and conditioner and bath stuff too x

Head and shoulders is a good one for the dandruff, i am one for the greasy hair, i use sunsilk-stay fresher longer think thats it! also if u hair is only greasy on the roots dab some talcum powder along the scalp and make sure you rub it in it drys the roots out, and your hair also won't look greasy..... also only put conditioner on the tips of your hair !! hope it goes well!!

i had the same problem and so i asked my doctor and she advised a shampoo called "Nizoral". It works as well as a perscription shampoo and you can get it at any drug store such as eckerds or anywhere that sells shampoo. You can use it along with any shampoo you'd like too and you apply it everyother time you shampoo, although if you want better results i suggest using it everytime. Hope that helps!

How about a mint-based shampoo? Mint naturally fights oils.. I know that Origins makes a really good shampoo for this called Clear Head. I know people who have used it and it really helps.

Neutrogena has shampoo/conditioner products called T-Gel. I know someone who uses it and it seems to help a lot, though in winter dry skin is a lot more difficult to fix.

I was going to suggest Head and Shoulders anit dandruff shampoo, that usually does the trick. unless you arent washing it mout properly. Oh and don't use conditioner.

I agree with whom ever said Neutrogena T-Gel. I used to have the same problem but it was quickly fixed with one use of the product. Plus, it is not as expensive as if you were to purchase something from the salon. But, if you prefer salon products, try soma haircare for dandruff. Its just as effective.
