They have a very extensive list of saints. Look them up by patronage of the answers to your questions. It is OK to choose the name of a person in your life, and choose a saint whose story you like.
Remember- your Confirmation name should reflect a saint whose example you find helpful in your life.
BLESSINGS!

I chose Joseph because I am a carpenter. I think all of the other answers have given you good advice. I would pick a name of a saint you know something about and inspires you. Don't worry too much about picking through the names of saints you know nothing about yet. You really can not go wrong. After all , they are all saints.

Is there a particular cause that you're interested in? Or a particular group of people who you feel a special concern for?
For example, the poor, or the homeless, or the elderly, or people with cancer or other terminal illnesses, or people with a particular problem such as alcoholism or whatever?
Or are you particularly attached to a country, or nationality or culture?
Or, what is your profession?
Because if you have a special concern for any particular group of people, or if you're in a given profession, no doubt there is a patron saint for it.
For instance, if you're a factory worker, you can find out who the patron saint of factory workers is, and use his/her name.
Or if you're particularly concerned about people with cancer or heart trouble -- maybe you've had a special loved one who's had the disease -- you can take the name of their patron saint.
If you need any help with this, feel free to PM me or email me at encarnacionjulia@yahoo.com .

there are alot so maybe you could start of by choosing a particualr devotion of a saint, see what names come up pertaining to this devotion and select it. the main reason for choosing the name of a saint is to help bring you closer to christ so you need one that you feel particularly close to.
some examples of devotions are
to converts
to the poor
to the lost etc............

I think you should just go for Polycarp. Simply because the idea of 'many carp' is sort of funny to me.
Come on ... you know you want to use Polycarp. ;)
