I was thinking of getting something in the middle of my back, I'm not real skinny, but I'm not real muscley either (thats right, muscley). Would the tattoo just call attention to my... averageness, or does it not matter?

It would be a little larger than the size of a credit card if that matters.

no, I dont care what it will look like when I'm 80, or even 70, because if I like it up until my skin starts to sag, it'll all be worth it. Plus, my skin will be gross either way at that point lol.

I'm about 5'7, 128 lbs, not really fat or muscular.

I'm 6'-0" 150 lbs so I think I know what you mean .....Instead of having those weird lumpy looking growths on your arms....abs....and shoulders....You have (as do I) the more natural looking lean muscles .....my wife refers to them as ropy muscles, I prefer runners muscle.(They make you quick and agile). Don't worry about it. Pick a good design..... get a bitchin' artist and everybody will too busy looking at the art to even notice the canvas its inked on.....

that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

i don't think it matters, unless you have a plan in effect already to lose weight, or gain muscle.
if you are happy with the size that you are, then i wouldn't worry about hitting the gym solely for the tattoo.
if i were you, i would just make sure that after i got the tattoo, that i maintained my weight, and not gain, or lose, so that i wouldn't risk distorting the tattoo.

Hit the gym. Even if you weren't getting a tatoo, just go to he gym anyway. You'll probably be glad you did once you get ripped so you can get the credit card sized tatoo.
