sorry i dont have yellow pages to hand, but try 'yell.co.uk'.the following areas are between 2-6miles from nec and would cost u 6-9pound for one way taxi fair,or £2.40 return bus fair.try searching th following areas
acocksgreen- 3-4 miles atleast 5 b&b abou £25-35 per night
sheldon- 2miles
olton 3m several
yardley 2-3m several
shirly 6m
also within 6m
stechford,2m marston green/chelmsly wood,3-5m

email me and i will get back to u ina couple of days with addresse and tel numbers if u wish.Book early as crufts is the busiest show at the nec.
I use to be a taxi driver,so let me know where u stay and i will tell u what ur fairs should be,so u dont get ripped of.Private hire vehicles charge £3 first mile,£1 there after.Black cabs are normally a couple of quid dearer for most journies.

Hello,

Crufts is at the NEC right ? Well this is also the home of Birmingham Airport so what you can stay at that is close are airport hotels. Express Holiday Inn is the closest as it is on the grounds of the NEC, but at around 70 pounds a night maybe a little expensive. Another option is to stay in Coventry - a train from Coventry to Birmingham International train station is no more than 10 minutes and several run early. Hotels close to Coventry station include Hylands Hotel about 50 pounds a night (easy enough to find via the internet and no more than a 10 minute walk to the station) - Abigail Guest House, 39 St.Patricks Road, Coventry, Tel: 02476 221378 (not a hotel but I think family run B&B it has been around as long as I can remember singles are about 20 pounds a night - also less than a 10 minute walk to station. Never stayed myself but some of my friends did when I gratuated a few years back and they said it was fine)
Good luck with the show

Smooth Hound Systems http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/ has guesthouses from around the UK listed. Speak to them as I've always found the guesthouses to be listed here quite good.
