Here's a chance to show me that you really do understand evolution and still find it to be flawed. Do a good job with these definitions and I'll take your arguments against evolution seriously.

Define in your own words, without looking at Wikipedia or any other reference:

- Inclusive Fitness
- Allele
- Reciprocal Altruism (biologically)
- Selection
- Insertion (don't be crude here)
- Frame Shift
- Unequal Crossover
- Pleiotropy
- Homoplasy

If you don't know these terms, then you can't dismiss evolution because you don't understand it!!!

Awesome, church lady!

One day at a time,
sorry, the bible is not a part of any of these terms

downloader,
that sounds nice, but not very parsimonious. you're trying to stretch your theology to encompass new information, but it doesn't work. for example, why would god keep vestigial structures? why would degrees of DNA sequence similarity match phylogenetic relatedness in every case (completely independently - e.g. cytochrome oxidase sequence)?

Wow, I haven't seen most of these terms in a l-o-n-g time! AP Biology was the last time, I think... so I'll try the ones I remember.

Do I get extra credit for this? :)

Allele: DNA in a specific position on the chromosome. (Does that make sense?)

Homoplasy: A characteristic that is shared by multiple species not necessarily related.

Reciprocal atlruism: Well, altruism is charity, or kindness, and to reciprocate is to give back, so I think it's similar to a symbiotic relationship where one benefits the other, and vice versa.

Pleiotrophy: I don't remember the exact definition, but I do recall that it is involved in genetic mutations.

Any more than this and I would definitely need Wikipedia! :(

I don't remember all these terms off hand, but I DID learn about them all thoroughly enough to get college credit for them. And I certainly understand them- I could better prove that if I had a reference :( I dismiss evolution because to me, creation and the world around us have far too much intelligent design and thought to have happened by accident.

I would gladly discuss evolution and why I dismiss it with anyone. Just let me do it from correct info and not my flawed memory!

Thanks for the challenge. I feel a little smarter already :D

I'm not sure I care to try and define everything, but I know that although we have observed evolution, and evolution does exist, there is still no proof that we all evolved from a single-celled organism. There is plenty of room for common ground when dealing with God and evolution. If there is a god (and there is), he would be the master Geneticist, so who are we to say that he couldn't design everything similarly? If there is a god (and there is) he would have the power and the knowledge to create genetic codes for all species and let the system of procreation take its course, even while allowing the rare occurrence of a genetic mutation. If he wanted to, he could create the man and the monkeys separately and still give them similar genetic codes, even if it’s only a difference of one allele. If a webmaster happens to build different websites for different purposes, it makes sense that he would still do some things that are common between all his websites because there are some things that he knows will work from his own knowledge and experience. And since God is all-knowing, I think we can trust that He's got the system down the way He wants it.

Seems you hardly compensate for the very flaws you ascribe to others. I should think that everybody has had evolutionary knowledge forced on them from every quarter these days. Difficult to get away from evangelistic humanism .From my extensive experience of 20th century totalitarian regimes you should learn a bit more about propaganda. Was it not atheistic indoctrination that sought to violently instil survival of the fittest evolution into every quarter of the earth ? I think your platform is likely to achieve the same result. That is to make people more hungry for spiritual values rather than for sterile debate about tree swinging ape-men or whatever.Add to that the hysterical phobia you demonstrate in intolerance of others and you stand a good chance of cultivating the fascist seed bed all over again. By the way did you not know which category you are in or have any knowledge at all about science or religion? Had you basic knowledge of either we could have given a cogent reply. However it says in the Bible , " never answer a fool according to his folly" ( Proverbs) So the best advice is for you to educate yourself not only in science or spiritual matters but in manners. Then perhaps we can learn something from you rather than waste our time . So we might ask whether you seek spiritual guidance or knowledge of Gods work in creation. In either case I suggest you first take your own advice and learn humility instead of self righteous codswallop.

I search for the Truth ( what GOD Said).
I find this evolution fascinating.
I am agonna look up those words.

In the Bible, GOD said that there was one kind of flesh for fish, and another for animals? and one more, sorry, not fresh on my mind, in the New Testament I think.
So, one shouldn't be able to become another.

Now, I know that GOD Creates very Complicated Stuff and it can be Changed too.
Will look up those words, thanks.
Ah, its been 6000 years since Adam, and the Earth is Billions of Years old and other Human Races have lived and died and been forgotton by us.
Ditto.............

Romans 1:22-23 Although they (YOU) claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight.

You don't even need to understand these to accept evolution. Basic research into the subject will show you all the evidence. Just like you don't need to fully understand physics to accept the theory of gravity.
