I had a set of golden bear irons when I grew up. They were fine as a beginner/learning set. You are right, the company is endorsed by Nicklaus.
There is a nice coupon for 15% off at http://www.24houredeals.com/The-Sports-Authority-coupons-133-mer.html if you are making that purchase on-line.
Good Luck.

Golden Bear is a Jack brand. They are good beginners clubs. Adams makes a set of wedges at about the same price at Sports Chalet and Sports Authority. I might go with those instead.
Good luck!

If you are looking for beginner, affordable clubs, Golden Bear is just fine.
As for the comment, " i dont know about the quality but i know adams golf makes afordable wedges that are better quality": If you don't know about the quality of Golden Bear, then how can you say that Adams have better quality, doesn't make sense.
Before you buy, you may want to got to Rock Bottom Golf, they sell discontinued clubs at deep discounts.

The easiest way to learn golf like a pro is by following "The Simple Golf Swing" program. It's primarily a 31 page eBook that teaches golfers how to make solid contact with the ball, how to avoid hitting fat, how to avoid slicing, how get more power, accuracy, and consistency in your swing. Consistency being the number 1 golf skill.
You not only get the eBook though, you also receive a ton of extra material including video, lessons on putting, driving, chipping, sand play etc. Here is their official site: http://www.golfswingguru.net

Would Jack Nicklaus have a golf company that isn't good? Come on Junior we're talking about the greatest golfer of all time and a premier course designer, so I would say his clubs/equipment has to be pretty darn good if he designed them. Wake up.

Look around for some better clubs. These are definitely low end products. YOu can find top brand equipment on the internet or at "Play It Again Sports" stores in your area. Also, try www.craigslist.com for people in your area looking to sell equipment. You can find used callaway clubs (which are the most forgiving clubs for beginners and experts) at http://callawaygolfpreowned.com.

They're not a major brand name, but they're good. Don't listen to people who judges somethings quality by brand name and price. Get the wedges.
