There is no way to predict when or even if a stage 4 cancer survivor will pass. It could be as little as a few months. Or the person could come away NED (no evidence of disease). You have heard this before but here it is again:

Hope for the best but plan for the worst (you may not have time at the end to get things together)

Live for the day. You and your loved one continue to have a life and it would be a shame to waste it trying to control what you can't.

Never leave anything unsaid. (you might not get another chance)

I hope this helps you. The above formula kept me alive through my wifes bout with cancer.

The truth is that no one knows. My aunts very good friend was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer, and 8 years later she is still around. My brother was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, and had a doctor send him home to write his will and settle his affairs. He lived another 4 years! The best thing to say, is while the diagnosis says it is time to prepare for the end, it is not the end itself. In a weird way, this is a gift, a time to make connections with people, to say good bye, and to say i love you.

I see that it varies from person to person. I know staying positive keeps you alive longer. No, I do not have it. My niece does and is living proof you can live longer. She is having more severe pain. But I think the saddest thing is her denial of her condition. She knows she has breast cancer, but she is sure she can beat it. Instead of spending her time with her family, she continues to work. Yes, there are a million reasons why she needs to work. But there is one reason not to and that is to spend her remaining moments with her family. She also denies her children time to grieve. She keeps all bad news from them. They are not stupid and can see she is suffering. Yes, she can hide some of her pain by working. Yes, she can keep denying anything is wrong by working. But she is denying something her children need very much and that is time with their mom and a chance for their mom to hold them because one day she will leave her children. Being positive can keep you alive for years. But being realistic is also good. You are not the only one hurting. You are not the only one suffering. You are not the only one dying a little each day. Live for the moment while accepting that soon you will go home to the Lord. Instead of maybe spending all your money on things that make you happy, save a little for others or for your loved ones especially your children you are leaving behind. But if you do nothing else let them grieve with you not alone. You don't have to spend all your moments being sad, but it is a part of you and your loved ones. It will too late to hold their hands when you are gone. Remember only the Lord knows when your time is up not any doctor.

Five hundred years ago, people said the world was flat. Today, people say that if the FDA and AMA haven't blessed something, it can't be real good. Well, here's something I know to be real AND good. It's a little different take on cancer treatment--

In 1990, I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma, stage 3-B, but I've survived. My doctors were great people, but they were limited to surgery, chemo and radiation by profitable AMA treatment policy. During the year in treatment, I started learning about alternative medicine. I'm a retired engineer, and this is what I've pieced together--our IMMUNE SYSTEMS become weakened by poor nutrition, lack of exercise and reduced oxygen. Once that happens, our body becomes vulnerable to common STRESSORS. Stressors can be environmental, like viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, food additives, electromagnetic waves or pollution. They can be internal things like emotional or job stress, or poisonous people in our lives. Aging is also a contributing factor. So this means:

WEAK IMMUNE SYSTEM + STRESSORS = DISEASE (cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc.)

Our bodies have 60 trillion--yes, trillion--cells, and there are always some mutating into cancer cells, but a healthy immune system kills them before they have a chance to get a foothold in the body.

It takes a LONG time, usually, or a high level of stressors, to weaken the immune system to the point where it won't do its job, but once cancer has formed, it will generally spread rapidly.

THIS IS IMPORTANT! There are ways to BEAT cancer that are currently being used in Europe and around the world, and there are some great books on the subject. I know because I've read about 50 of them from cover to cover. Here's a list of the best ones. Some are out of print and getting hard to find--

"The Cure for All Cancers", ISBN 0963632825
"A Cancer Therapy", ISBN 0882681052
"Oxygen Therapies", ISBN 0962052701
"Hydrogen Peroxide--Medical Miracle", ISBN 1885236077
"The Natural Cure for Cancer--Germanium", ISBN 0533071410
"Killing Cancer", ISBN 0705000966
"Natural Cures 'They' Don't Want You to Know About", ISBN 0975599518

I know of people whose cancer has 'spontaneously remitted' (WENT AWAY for no known reason) AFTER they went on programs of herbs and nutrition to restart their immune systems.

You and your family must look out for yourselves to stand a chance of being healthy. This is not a joke, and I'm not selling anything--just trying to help.
I am using the things I learned in those books right now to fight off a second infestation of cancer. I've been at it for over a year now, and think I'm going to make it. Use what works for you, and pass on your success. Best of luck.

AMA AND FDA--
The American Medical Association (AMA) and the pharmaceutical companies control medical law and the FDA in this country with heavy lobbying and a revolving door policy. WHY would they want to do this? It's about the money. In 2004, medicine (doctors, hospitals, researchers and pharmaceutical firms) received 1.1 TRILLION dollars--1/4th of the total earnings (GNP 4.4 trillion) in the U.S. This is astounding, it means MILLIONS of people worked the whole year just to pay the nation's medical expenses!! That's totally astounding, and just too big to care about individuals.

No one can really determine that. I know people that live with breast cancer for years and then there are some that die quicker. It all depends on your body's immune system and your own strength and most of all state of your own mind. In our clinic we have a little sign saying that the best physician is actually you yourself because it all depends how soon you give up. My advice: If you have been diagnosed with any type of life thretening condition - PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP! You don't have to die only because you have cancer or AIDS. It really all depends in large dose on your own setting of mind. Just to illustrate this here is a story - a true story: this patient was telling himself that he was sick and that he was dying. He stayed in bed and mostly did nothing except for being depressed. Few months after constantly repeating to himself that he was dying he passed away. The body was taken to the coroner's office and after they performed autopsy on him the ME did not find any disease in him. He was perfectly healthy. Why he died then? He killed himself by sentencing himself to die. All cells and neurons in his body were receiving and transmitting the DEATH SENTENCE message to other parts of his body and other cells that he was dying and they started dying causing his body to finally die. As you can see our mind is a very powerful instrument. It can heal us but it can also harm us. It can be used as very destructive tool, so please use it wisely.
