oh i just had a thought about this one...
given that the animals we can die from with poison are usually found in rainforests, deserts , outback etc...
perhaps we have overstepped our boundries ?

Wow. I can't believe what I just read. Satan came to earth and started messing up DNA. I can honestly say I've never heard of that before ... and it doesn't make sense, even from what I *remember* of the christian perspective.
This is an interesting question. Mankind was given dominion over the entire earth, yet can be brought down by a tiny spider. And not just black widows, there are a million things out there with venom strong enough to kill us. There are caterpillars in South America that will cause your brain to hemorrhage if you are stung by them. And they just so happen to make their homes in fruit trees, and many South Americans make their living picking fruit. I can't remember exact statistics, but these caterpillars only come out once every few years, but they kill a significant amount of people. You make lethal caterpillars, and then you put them in an area in which people must venture in order to make a living. Not a very intelligent design, if you ask me.

Actually, odds are you will not die from a black widow bite. You would have to have some health issue already or be very old or young.
There are lots of creatures though that do have the venom necessary to kill a person.

I don't know how you can blame God for letting spiders defend themselves?Animals and some insects treat each other more better than humans. So don't be mad at the spider just stay away from them.Peace.

Its the intelligent design built into death from peanut allergy that gets me - a peanut with a deadly self-defence mechanism that only works after it's already been killed (i.e. picked, roasted and mashed up into peanut butter) - what WAS God thinking of?

Nahhh...you have it reversed....he Intelligently designed black widows to be able to kill us...thus promoting.....gerrrr....I can't immitate this line of thinking.
I must not have been intelligently designed well enough.
Damned evolution....it may be dirty, but at least it's honest.

Why didn't God intelligently design us to only need 1 sperm to impregnate a woman? And what's up with the menstrual cycle. A woman shouldn't have to time it, just think it.

He didn't mean to make them poisonous, but poizin-ous. We should be able to harvest them for that Zinfandel. It was an accident caused by Satan and Kirk Cameron while slipping on a banana peel.

HE Didn't.
After satan was kicked out of Heaven, he came to the Earth and started messing up Stuff.
Like DNA etc.
satan is a pure Spiritual curse.
everything he can touch eventually gets messed up.
Takes a while to mess up DNA.
Ditto.................
(roses started growning thorns, etc.)
