I know this sounds really stupid, but
my friend gave me some skittles and she touched em with her hand. She's had punomeia(?) for a while, and getting over it. She has a bad cough, and most of the time when she coughed, she coughed in her hand. Should I be worried?

Just cause you're exposed to a germ that caused pneumonia, doesnt mean you'll get the same thing. You could get sick, but maybe not pneumonia. It's not a stupid question. Kinda gross thought, hopefully there weren't enough germs left in your friends sputum to cause you an illness. But, you'll have to wait and see, and if you do get sick, then seek help. Taking antibiotics beforehand doesn't always work.

Pneumonia is a condition and not a virus or such like, and so cannot be called contagious. It is caused by a variety of things though, some of which are contagious. One of the main causes is bacterial infection, and if that is how your friend contracted pneumonia then there is a chance that you may have caught the same infection. If she's getting over it then you should be okay, and hand contact probably won't be enough to transfer it. However, if you start to feel ill then consulting your doctor wouldn't be a bad idea.

Pneumonia is NOT contagious, it's something that occurs after an initial infection (like a cold) that travels down to the lungs.

no you cant catch pneumonia off someone else. As it is a inflammation in your lungs that needs antibiotics.
