My children're having half-term holiday. I've taken days off from work, expecting to spend more time with them at home. Contrary to my expectation, my gf's taken them all to her mother, leave me alone at home like an oaf?

The clue is "my expectation". Did you TELL your GF that you intended to spend the time with them or just hope it would happen?

Did you share with your children what you planned to do with them that would be of interest?

If not, have a nice time at home, oaf.

Maybe she has trust issues with you.. have you given her any reason not to trust you with the kids??? She may also just want to give you a break,,,usually when someone takes time off work they want a vacation from everything....Talk to her and ask her why she is doing this and tell her you would like to spend some one on one time with the kids. Good Luck.

I am assuming she went with the children to her mother's?
I could understand if she took them there and stayed with you to have some time alone together.
But really the only way to find out the real answer is to talk to her about it.
All we can do is guess like you are doing right now. Talk to her...you will either believe her and work it out or decide maybe she is not the person for you and move on.

be cool...

Sounds like lack of communication to me....maybe tell her your intensions of taking the day off for your kids. If she knew it already, go get them and have some fun!!!

Because she doesn't trust you with the kids by yourself. She feels like Her mother can do a better job then you can.

Sorry :(

might be misunderstanding, did you tell her your plan of taking days off, if not, then unintentionally she did sent them to her mother, maybe you could give them a call to return if there is chance...

I am sorry. If you can't change her mind, go back to work and try to ask for more time off later.

she probably didnt do it on purpose. did you tell her you were taking time off to see your kids? if she knew, it was kind of rude of her to cancel your plans like that. you need to let her know that it upsetted you for her to do that.
