If not, why not? Wouldn't he be the only one qualified?

Research Constantine - this ruler in around 300AD got together with a bunch of other leaders to stop a war between Pagans and Jews. They brought all their religious information and began to piece together the "Bible" - which contained pagan rituals and stuff as well as the Jewish stuff. They had debates on what whould be in the bible and what wouldn't. They threw out anything that would make Jesus seem less than omnipitent, and imbelished the truth. If there were writings by Jesus... they are hidden, burnt or long gone to protect the Catholics and Christians from total anarchy within their own religions. The Christian leaders believe that without religion, man will destroy himself. So, they preserve the ancient text that Constantine put together and deny most claims that the faith of their followers is based on lies to fool a world into stopping a war 1700 years ago. To protect the "world", Constantine sent out his men to destroy any other evidence of religions that did not speak the "truth" that which is written in the "bible" They even burned down the library at Alexandria. And IF there were writings by Jesus... they would have been kept there. Just look it up. "Constantine Bible" Google it! :)

Jesus didn't have the need to as everything was sent down as a revelation unto Him just like the Torah to Moses and the Qoran to Muhammad. The main role for Jesus was, "to guide the lost sheep of Israel". However, others many years later decided to alter many things in the Bible and now therein exist many contradictions and errors.
He was qualified but not qualified to alter the word of God but only to deliver it, otherwise he would have been in contention to God and not a prophet.

No he didn't. The books of the new testament were written by followers of his disciples in the second half of the first century. There is a gospel attributed to his brother, James, but it was not included by the Council of Nicaea. The Epistle of James has been attributed to the same person but as with many holy works, there is doubt surrounding its true authorship.

As to why Jesus did not write his own message, he may not have seen the need as he based his mission on an interpretation of Jewish scripture that already existed. Perhaps, as the son of a carpenter, he was illiterate and relied on oral tradition as many of his contemporaries. Who can say for certain?

God inspired everything in the bible. He chose those that actually did the writing as He was qualified. Whoever God chooses is qualified to accomplish His tasks.
That would be similar to you and I talking in detail about you and your life. I am now qualified to write your autobiography. I would not have been if you would not have supplied me with the information I needed.

Did Jesse write anything in the Bible? Reads like he wrote the whole thing. Oh, oh, Jesus I'm sorry. No I don't believe he did. To say Jesus couldn't write is ridiculous if he was God, But he did keep himself pretty busy the short time he was on earth. Getting himself Crucified and all. He just left the writing up to his followers.

Nope - Jesus never wrote one word of the Bible personally while he was wandering around on earth.

It was written by his followers after his death. Christians claim that the Bible was inspired by God - who wrote it through humans. Hence, Jesus wrote it because he's God. A bit circular for me - but that's just me.

I do think that Jesus would be the one qualified to write about his life. Maybe that's why we ended up with so many gospels, letters etc after his death - because he didn't write a word.

The Bible was not written unitl Jesus was dead ... it's part of the story ... so, no, he didn't write any of our published Bible. When he lived only 10% of the people where literate, so, it was much more effective to tell a story than to write it down!

No, He didn't. However, there are rumours that a Gospel according to Jesus was discovered near the Dead Sea Scrolls, but that they contained such revelations as to undermine the Catholic Church (and every other denomination) that there has been a conspiracy to keep it secret. This theory has been addressed in such films as Stigmata and various other works, both written and otherwise.

EDIT - to all of you who state that the BIBLE wasn't written until after Jesus' death, can I point you in the direction of the OLD TESTAMENT (you know, the bit the Jews read) which was written up to thousands of years before his BIRTH. The New Testament was written after his death and alleged resurrection, and indeed wasn't compiled until around 400BC. And for those of you who state that there are no primary sources 'proving' the existence of the man, check this out. There are more valid historical texts 'proving' the existence of JC (I'm not saying he was God) the MAN than Caeser's Gallic War, which is widely held to be a truth. And that's from the perspective of historians, not Christians.

No. And why? Because maybe he couldn't write, not many people had the knowledge of knowing how to write and it was not a big thing then. Besides most people couldn't read either. The spoken word was what mattered the most then. And, yes, he was probably the best qualified.

That's a funny idea. As if, for example, James Bond would have written the 007 books. Jesus is a character in the bible, not an author.
