....does that mean that the rest of the universe is perfect?

No. The whole creation is groaning for redemption according to Romans chapter 8

No, the Bible says that the creation (the universe) itself groans in anticipation of the perfection that is yet to come.

Romans Chapter 8
21Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

The fact that there are earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions readily point out that creation is not in a perfect state, at least for us. The Bible also says that there will be a new heaven and a new earth.

Also, not all believers believe alike. For some the earth was already in a state of imperfection when before modern man arrived. In Genesis 1:2 it reads "and the earth was dark and void and without form."
